I have decided to also use my Boss Micro BR-80 as my every day MP3 song player, so i have loaded up much of my favourite material, songs to listen to while on the road, and songs to play during gig set breaks. Also all my practice songs which on the current gigging setlists. To load the songs in the eBand Song editor must be used, the song formats must match those on the compatibility list, or the eBand editor will reject them. Now this is the bit that had me stumped for a while, the song file attributes must be correct and complete, in particular, the song Album, Title, and Song Artist, as well as the file name. I noticed this when trying to load my playlist songs in alphabetical order, but they were listed in the BR-80 in a seemingly random order, this is why. The BR-80 can group or organise songs by either Artist or Album, if these attributes were empty, then the list will be full of blanks. The BR-80 does not organise by file name, but by the file attribute song name. To check the file attributes before using eBand editor (in windows), right click on a song file and select 'properties', from there you can edit the attributes as required. A group of files can be selected and have the common properties edited, like Album and artist as a group setting. When a song is played, the original file name is displayed on the screen as the song title, not the file attribute 'song title' setting. With the file attributes set before using the eBand song editor to load material into the BR-80, organisation of songs by Album and Artist in the BR-80 make your experiance much more enjoyable, the BR-80 will play a continuous list of songs by the catagory you have chosen. Expand this file on your computer, where you can then make use of the files it contains. They allow you to use the BR-80 as an audio interface after you've connected it to your computer using a USB cable. So I copied the contents of the BR0 folder shown above to the newly formatted SD card's BR0 folder overwriting the diskinfo2.br0 file in the process (maybe this was the wrong thing to do?). Still no luck. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jez To load the songs in the eBand Song editor must be used, the song formats must match those on the compatibility list, or the eBand editor will reject them. Read all the Roland support docs that explain this whole process And download ALL the BR-80 Workshop guides created by Roland US Am I correct in saying then that the songs are on the sd card in the br80 but you need to use a windows utility via usb to tell it that they are there?! How strange. Thanks anyway, Jez Read the BR-80 Owners Manual eBand function are described on Page 28 Read the BR-80 Owners Manual eBand function are described on Page 28 Yes that's what I am hoping to achieve i.e. to get the SD card back to the state it was in when the BR80 was new. I just thought it would be easier than the process described above. Jez I now want to restore all the Roland demo songs that would have been on the BR80 when it was new. Where do I get all these files so that I can achieve this using eBand Song List Editor. From the demo videos on YouTube there seems to be hundreds of these and they looked quite good. Maybe someone who still has all the Roland demos can just upload an img file of their SD card. Wouldn't this work? Thanks and sorry for any confusion Jez Thanks very much Jez Thanks so much for your great help Elantric Now I'm off to explore some of these great demo songs. Jez Yes it's all working great now, thanks again. Incidentally the procedure worked fine on a new 16Gb SDHC card so there is now plenty of room for other songs, compositions etc. Cheers Jez Yes it seems to take about 30 seconds to startup with the 16Gb card containing all the demo songs. I'll restore the old 2Gb and see how long that takes. EDIT: With the 2Gb card it takes about 12 seconds to boot up. Quite a difference, in fact I'll stick with the 2Gb card until I need the extra space, thanks gumtown. Jez. While certain CD brands have worked well in the past, this is no longer the case now. Look for CD-Rs manufactured at the Taiyo Yuden plant in Japan. Below are a few brands that we have had good success with: Taiyo Yuden, Discmakers, Microboards, Plextor, Apogee, BASF, HHB, and Mitsui Gold. Avoid common off the shelf, low quality and error prone CDs such as Memorex, TDK, Maxell, Sony, Imation and Verbatum. 2.
